Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse
This down-to-earth restaurant, located at 1787 Gallatin Pike N., has served the area since 1950. They offer pulled pork, ribs, brisket, wings, sausage, and more. The sides, like the fried okra and cole slaw, add that extra special addition to create the perfect barbecue meal. We like the family packs, some of which feed up to 12 people. For a smaller group, the beef brisket is a good choice and serves four to six people. They are open for dine-in, takeout, and delivery.
Rucker’s Bar B Que
This hidden gem is small in size but huge in taste. We recommend the half-slab of ribs plate, the one-pound smoked shrimp plate, or the beef brisket sandwich. Other good choices are the pork brats, the pulled pork egg rolls, and the smoked crawfish plate. If you’re looking for something on the smaller side, try the smoked catfish or the smoked chicken wings plate. You can dine inside, grab something for takeout, or order delivery. Shotgun Willie’s BBQ
Just five miles south toward Nashville, you’ll find some of the best pulled pork, beef brisket, ribs, sausage, and chicken around. And you can’t beat the sides, which they make from scratch every day. Try the green beans, baked beans, poppyseed slaw, mac and cheese, or dill pickle tater salad. They are open Wednesdays to Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until they’ve sold out of goodies. Shotgun Willie’s BBQ is located at 4000 Gallatin Pike Ste. B in Nashville.
White’s Fish & BBQ
Drive about six miles northeast of Madison to White’s, located at 1212 W Main St. in Hendersonville. We recommend starting with the fried green tomatoes or the loaded fries for an appetizer. Then go for a barbecue pork sandwich, a rib sandwich, the baby back rib, or the sliced beef brisket plate. Be sure to add a side of the cornbread patty, corn on the cob, or fried okra. Or bring a meal home to your family with the take-out-only value family packs.
